I don't know, but I was just reading "Deep Purple - the Early Years" cd leaflet: [Deep Purple's keyboard player Jon] Lord shared [Deep Purple's then-manager Tony] Edvards' concerns about [Chris] Curtis [who was temporarily living in Lord's apartment and was planned to become Purple's (although the name Deep Purple was to be invented much later) first drummer, a plan that never materialized ].
